Since the early 18th century, around the 1690s, we Indonesian farmers were introduced to coffee cultivation by European explorers. From that time until today, we have continued to grow and care for coffee plants with dedication. Over generations, our ancestors have passed down deep knowledge and expertise in coffee farming. This heritage has enabled Indonesian farmers to produce high-quality coffee beans that have long been recognized around the world—such as Gayo, Toraja, Mandailing, and Kintamani coffee. Many other regions across the archipelago also produce exceptional Arabica and Robusta varieties, known for their distinctive flavor and premium quality.

Coffee can be broadly classified into two major groups, which come from different types and varieties of coffee trees: red coffee and green coffee.
